SYDNEY HITCHCOCK

My mission for MINDSET IT and GET IT is to help your reach your personal goals, live more authentically and overcome the growth limitations associated with a negative mindset.

I think one of the biggest barriers to showing up in the world the way we want to is not recognizing when we are getting in our own way. My coaching style involves building a heightened sense of self-awareness with a direct but supportive approach, helping you identify what you need to move forward on whatever topic you bring into our sessions.

With both coaching services and guided workshops, I provide the space for you to get out of your head and into action!

Bachelor's Degree in Psych

When I got to college at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, I only had intentions of graduating with a business degree. Through filling my open elective slots with psychology courses, I reignited a passion for understanding human behavior and working with people to enhance their life experiences. I graduated with dual degrees in Psychology and Business Management, hoping to make a positive impact on people I encountered.

“Sydney's positive attitude made it very easy to work with her. I was surprised by how comfortable I felt sharing my true self with a stranger.” ~ K.B, 2023 ~

Positive Psychology Training

I spent the early years of my career working in marketing and seeking ad hoc opportunities to share my psychology knowledge with colleagues. To increase the impact I was making and the number of people I could help, I embarked on the journey of earning my Certification in Applied Positive Psychology from the Flourishing Center. After completing this comprehensive 9-month program, I decided to take the next step in learning how to best use my knowledge of positive psychology to help change people’s lives: coaching. Through the Flourishing Center I completed another 5-month training program and earned my Applied Positive Psychology Coaching Certification.

What is Positive Psychology?

Positive psychology is a branch of psychology focused on the character strengths and behaviors that allow individuals to build a life of meaning and purpose—to move beyond surviving to flourishing (Psychology Today).

Where traditional psychology focuses on helping people get from an ill or diseased state back to baseline, positive psychology teaches us that we can move north of neutral - into a thriving state - by intentionally building the six pillars of wellbeing into our lives. The six pillars defined by the PERMA-V model of human flourishing include Positivity, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Achievement and Vitality.
